National Window Safety Week

In the US, 4,000 children fall from buildings every year (70% fall from 2nd or 3rd story windows).  Majority of serious falls happens at home.  Children are twice as likely to be injured at home than at a child care facilty.

National Burn Awareness Week Feb 5-11

February 5 – 11, 2017 is National Burn Awareness Week

Follow these safety tips to prevent burns in and around your home

  • Put your child in a high chair, play yard or a secured area when you are cooking. Don’t carry a child while cooking.
  • Keep an eye on appliances such as irons, curling irons or hair dryers that can heat up quickly or stay warm. Unplug and safely store these items after use.
  • Keep appliance cords out of children’s reach.
